Mother's Day weekend was a hectic one for us! Saturday morning we were doing some yard work in the front flower bed, and we uncovered a nest of three baby bunnies. Two of them tried to scurry away, but my cat-like reflexes caught them before they got too far. One, however, managed to flee into the neighbors down spout of the gutter. So for about 20 minutes Chris and our neighbor, Steve, worked to try and lure him out. They tried enticing him with lettuce, they tried sticking the hose down the gutter and pushing him out, and they tried flushing him out with water, but nothing seemed to work. Ironically, the house two doors down from us was having their gutters worked on...seriously, how does that work out! So the guys came over and unscrewed the bottom of the gutter, and we were able to rescue the little one and return him and his siblings to the nest. Crisis averted!!
Well, an hour after we finished in the yard, we had to take Kolsch to the vet. He hadn't wanted to eat all morning (usually the food is gone in seconds), and he had thrown up and there were little specks of blood in it (gross I know, but what can you do). So we took him in to the vet. They ran some tests and found out that he had pancreatitis...basically the pancreas secretes digestive enzymes, it was inflamed so his tummy was hurting and he couldn't eat or drink anything. So, we had to leave him in the doggie hospital for three days where they gave him an IV of fluids and meds. Once he could keep food and water down, he could come home. When we left the vet, Tyger didn't really understand what was going on. We returned home and he just wandered around the house. He had never been without his brother before, and we could tell he was lonely. He clung by our sides all weekend.
Well, Sunday rolls around. My mom and brother were in town, so the four of us went to church at Browns Bridge. After church, everyone started arriving for lunch. Besides my mom and brother, we had invited Chris' mom, brother, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins...there were 23 people at our house. It was crazy, but lots of fun! Everyone hadn't been together in a long time, so it was good to catch up. Also, none of them had been to our house before, so it was fun to show them around. Well, before lunch, the kids wanted to see the bunnies. So I took them out front, and they all took turns holding them. Mostly the bunnies were on the ground because the kids kept dropping them...poor little bunnies. But, they enjoyed getting to hold them. We ate lunch, chatted, and then everyone had to head home. Once it was just us, I took a nap and Chris retreated to the media room to play some video games...we were exhausted! It was such an eventful weekend, but tons of fun! Too bad Kolschie wasn't around to enjoy it! Fortunately, he came home the next Tuesday and is completely fine now!!

Tyger was the only boy who could be with me on Mother's Day. He had a blast being the center of attention. He ran outside with all the boys (there are 4 cousins that are 6-9 yrs old). Oh, this is the first picture I have posted of my hair with all the highlights! I think this is the lightest it's ever been...I really like it!
These are the flowers that Stephanie brought for all the mom's...they were beautiful and a perfect centerpiece for the table.
Stephanie brought Tyger a stuffed toy. He loves stuffed toys!!! It was a possum. He carried it around all weekend...it went with him to bed and downstairs with him first thing every morning...it became his buddy! Once Kolsch returned, possum died (Kolsch has a thing for ripping up stuffed toys, especially when they belong to Tyger...that's an older brother for ya). Stephanie had bought a stuffed skunk for Kolsch, and it is actually still hanging around. He doesn't have a head or a tail, but he still gets carried up and down the stairs.

This is my brother Michael. He just turned 17 in March and is a sophomore in High School. He was the surprise...clearly, since we are 12 years apart. He is amazing! An incredible leader at his school and church! I think he is fantastic!! Oh, he's taller then me!!
Again, Tyger and Possum...I wasn't lying, he carried him around all weekend!

Maddie, Lindsay and Sara Adelaide (Chris' cousins) with the bunniesMaddie and Sara Adelaide are sisters in a family of 6 kids! Their parents, Uncle Eddie and Aunt Sara, have Becht, Katie, Maddie, Sara Adelaide, Sam and Mitch. I think they range in ages from 6-19. Lindsay is the oldest of 3...she is the same age as Sara Adelaide. Her parents, Uncle Shane and Aunt Susan, also have twin boys, Coulton and Davis. They are the same age as Sam...maybe 9, or possibly 11?? It's hard to keep up!
Many of you have seen the pictures of our office...GA and Tech stuff with some Saints stuff thrown in. This is Uncle Eddie wearing a Saints' helmet and his son, Sam, wearing a Tech helmet.
Here I am enjoying my favorite food, ice cream, with a little cake mixed in. Tyger thinks he is getting some...not a chance, son!
My mom and II was so glad that she made the drive down! We hadn't seen her since the Super Bowl, so it was nice to catch up and enjoy some family time!

Ok, so I know that this seems random, but the girls decided to put Mitch (the youngest of all the cousins) in Tyger's crate. Older sister's can be so mean...it was pretty funny though!
