This week we've had some time off since we don't have our first playoff game until next Saturday. It has been so nice to have Chris home for a few days. We've been wanting to go to the zoo, so on Tuesday, we decided to go. We had free passes from the Saints...good thing because it would have cost us $35 each to go...crazy! Since it was so cold (the high was in the 40s), some of the animals weren't out, but we were able to see all of our favorite ones.
Chris loves the elephants! These were Asian elephants.

He was really close to us, only a ditch and a short rock wall separated us. He's smiling at us!
The white tigers were beautiful! This picture reminds me of Kolsch and Ty playing.
Here's me with the camels. Don't let the smile fool you, I was freezing!

The orangutan was awesome! He would hold out his ginormous hand because he wanted food. We really wanted to feed him, but we followed the rules and didn't.

I think that giraffes might be one of my favorites. I love this picture because it shows the giraffe eating from a tree...it's crazy that it's that tall.
They had a reptile house at the zoo and a separate area that housed this white alligator. The first white alligator was found in a Louisiana swamp in the 80s. When it was found, it appeared on several T.V. shows, including Jay Leno. It was kinda creepy.
We are so glad that we finally went to the zoo! We had an awesome time!
