On Sunday, we went with Tim and Beth to the Strawberry Festival in Ponchatoula (about 45 minutes away). Next to Mardi Gras, this is Louisiana's next most attended festival. While we were there, we met up with the Kaesviharns (Kevin plays safety with Chris) and the Mares (Olindo was the kicker for the Saints last year, but is now with Seattle). We also saw the Martins when we were leaving (Jaime was the back-up quarter back last year). We had a great time!
Everywhere you looked there was food...lots of cajun food and all kinds of strawberry food. We ate chocolate dipped strawberries and strawberry shortcake and drank strawberry lemonade and strawberry daquiris. Besides food, there were booths with clothes and crafts for sale. We purchased a black and white ceramic fleur de lis painting for our house. Before we left, we also purchased a half flat of strawberries. We'll be eating strawberries all week!
I took this picutre from our car.
Ponchatoula is one of the smallest country towns. The town is known for the Strawberry Festival!
At the festival, there was a carnival section. This picture was taken from the top of the Ferris Wheel.

Tim and Beth also rode the Super Shot, a free-fall ride.
